It’s literally impossible. Both Saya and Yomi, as well as Arata, have acknowledged Yuu’s existence. However, when Arata’s other-self died, she couldn’t see Yuu anymore.
My theory is that you need to have a counterpart in the Otherworld in order to see Yuu.

I though she literally went insane with grief from killing Yomi.

Mato is only upset because she wasn’t able to do it reasonably. What happened at the end of the OVA is what Mato wanted to do - but it’s literally impossible now. So yes, the grief is a huge factor, but the bond of the Chain is what’s going to drive this power-up.
If the Otherworld girl went insane due to grief, then I think every girl in the Otherworld (maybe minus BGS and Strength) would have lost it….

This is probably annoying if someone is following all my posts, but Yuu could just be the person in the background, trying to make sure everything goes ok, and doesn’t need to exist to other people because they’re not involved in the otherworld.
