Not really. I’m sitting in homeroom listening to the vocafarre concert, because, while I should probably be doing work, I really really don’t feel like it. I got my practice algebra midterm done but I’m like blahhh I doubt teachers will ask for it because it’s just make up work anyways, but still. So about the Vocafarre concert, it was pretty good, a couple new songs too one new one by Akikoroid, a first performance from Tone Rion (which I’ll get to in a bit), VY1 song, and a cover of a VY1 demo by Gumi and Akikoroid. One of the most entertaining things of the concert was probably the fact that live online comments were being put in the back, and a few inappropriate(yet funny) comments slipped by the mods.
VY1 starts out the intro with a bang, with her Vocafarre desu, her engurishu, is passable, and the song is catchy (as it was done by the same person who did Project Diva Desu for Crypton) and is a nice opening
So the concert actually starts out with Tone Rion as the first actual performer, now, you see her on the screen on the side, talking to 4 girls in the front, which include SeeU’s voice provider, and Mew’s voice provider, Tone Rion attempts to break out of the screen, and appears with the girls singing, this performance… was terrible. The girls danced decently, but the whole introduction was annoying, and all of the girls were terrible singers and drowned out Tone Rion completely. I couldn’t tell if she was terrible too or if she was being drowned out… either was it was just a shame because her model was extremely gorgeous and smooth.
Then there was Aoki Lapis, her songs were adorable, but a bit forgettable and boring. My main problem with her was how glitchy her small model was. She was really small, she had her own little stage and was extremely adorable for one song, and then the next she actually perched herself atop the guitarist’s shoulder. Cute, but a little lack luster, she only sung two songs and then disappeared, not to be seen for the rest of the concert.
Then there’s one of my favorites and one of the ones who really stole the show, Akikoroid, with her opening song, “I saw you at the convenience store” unveiled by two sliding doors, started picking up the slack where little Aoki left off. After that song, she sings a new one and has her back up dancers, this time, they’re actually dressed similar to her and there’s a new unknown song.
yes, Akikoroid is a troll.
Then we have Gumi who comes down in her own little platform type thing (which doesn’t really help her 80s stripper look) and sings Love Droid, then Megu Megu Endless night, with the help of Akikoroid’s back up dancers who have subsequently changed back into what the were wearing in their previous concert.
Then Akikoroid and Gumi Duet together two songs, the latter being a cover of VY1s demo Cyber Thunder Cider
which is way better than the originaland that’s the end of the show followed by a little thank you and credits.
Overall the show was extremely good except for the Tone Rion part. Now, Crypton, which seems to be losing their thunder to these newer companies , is planning a new concert in March at the Tokyo Dome a much larger venue, and saying it will be,”Miku’s last” Not exactly clear what the hell that means….. It’s possible they are officially retiring Miku’s V2 vocals as all other crypton v2 voicebanks are no longer sold. Crypton actually does have actual Hologram technology that they have put to use at the Tokyo Game show (and I’m not talking about the screens but actual 3-D projections you can walk around) the only reason they probably haven’t implemented it in concert is due to size concerns. Oliver is also planned to be used in a concert but not too much information on that… well that’s my review, peace!

“A Vocaboo is like a Weaboo, only Vocaloid.”
“Other symptoms that weren’t listed may include: Thinking that only the Japan Vocaloids exist and the Engloids are fakes, Becoming a raging fangirl against any pairing or demands that the Vocaloid mascot (not the program, the character mascot) belongs to them and only them, and they may sing covers but overuse auto-tune not for the purpose of the effect fitting the song but instead to make themselves sound like their ideal Vocaloid voice.”
“There may be more symptoms to define this, and if one may see themselves constantly having some of the symptoms… they may perhaps be a Vocaboo. However there is a chance that someone may have one or two and still not be a Vocaboo.” -Submitted by Anon.
I myself might not agree with all of them myself, but some of this IS kind of true…
Internet, Co. has a new page up for their upcoming Vocaloid3 voice bank, Megpoid Extend. As of this time, it appears to be the first Japanese Vocaloid3 with a release date of October 21. (This is not counting the voice(s) that will be bundled with the software.) It should be noted that you can buy individual Extends or buy them as a set (contrary to Crypton’s Appends at this time), as well as buy them together or separate with the tiny editor or the full editor. However, I’m not entirely certain if the original Megpoid software seems to be required (and, more than likely, imported into Vocaloid3)…
PowerFX originally announced a short while back that their expected release date of a male(?most likely?) Vocaloid3 voice bank is October 1st.
